HOUSTON — A United Airways flight sure from Houston to Rio de Janeiro has returned to Bush Intercontinental Airport for an emergency touchdown shortly after takeoff, the airline mentioned.
Flight 129 returned to the airport Tuesday evening due to “a mechanical challenge,” in response to a press release from United Airways.
The airline didn’t describe the character of the issue and an airport spokesperson didn’t instantly return messages for remark Wednesday morning.
The airline mentioned the airplane landed safely, passengers bought off and United Airways made preparations to get them to their vacation spot.
The flight monitoring web site FlightAware reported the plane was a Boeing 767 flying to Rio de Janeiro that departed Houston at 8:52 p.m. and returned to the airport, touchdown at 10:50 p.m.
